•  Professional Fire Brigades

Voluntary Fire Brigade of Perchtoldsdorf

Historical

The Brigade was established in 1868 and consists actually of

 Crew

103 active members (from Age 15 to 65)

13 reservist members( older then 65)

20 young firefighters ( Age 10 to 15)

We distinguish two sorts of events:

Technical missions – car accidents , security measures for goods, animals an people. Fire missions of all dimensions including fire alarms triggerd of in Companies.

The majority of alarms - around 80 Percent – concern technical events, the rest of 20 percent are related to firefights. Our duties include the protection of events (clubbings, theatre festivals, etc) and the supervision of fireworks.

Alarm

The alarming of our active members is done either on individual radio receivers or by messages on mobile phones through the district alarm center in Mödling.

In case of extreme danger the alarm comes through wailing of sirens.

Vehicles

The Voluntary Firebrigade has actually 13 vehicles and 3 containers. With these vehicles we cover 28.000 Kilometers a year. We distinguish between fire extinguish vehicles and technical vehicles. There is also the combined form of both possibilities.

Special services

Due to the proximity to the Austrian Capital Vienna , the Voluntary Fire Brigade of Perchtoldsdorf is part of the Alarmplans of the Professional Firebrigade of Vienna and can be involved to assist them.

Further we are part of the Catastrophe Support Services of the District of Mödling especially in case of natural events like floods or extreme snowfall. Therefore we participate with a kitchen container constructed by the members of our brigade.

Furthermore we have five experts for matters involving explosives.
